So, what's the ticker? Well, we've decided that everyone should know what great recyclers we have in Cambria County! The "Ticker" is our way of letting the public know how much material has been collected for recycling at the Big Blue Bins. We will update the ticker as often as possible.

Total number of pounds recycled in 2007:
3,953,500
Total number of pounds recycled in 2006:
3,934,740

In 2006, the Solid Waste Authority's Big Blue Bin drop-off program has collected 3,934,740 pounds of recyclables. Sure, that number seems big, so let us put it into perspective for you:

3,934,740 lbs. is equal to roughly:
746 1/2 ton Dodge Ram trucks
(and yes, that's the Quad Cab Hemi)
906 Lincoln Towncars
8.7x weight of the Statue of Liberty (not including the base)
4.5x maximum take-off weight of a Boeing 747

Check back here regularly for updates on "The Ticker".
And a big thanks to all for recycling so much!!
