Recycling Rates Increasing!

EZ Navigator - Recycle Main >>> Recycling in Cambria County >>> Rates Increasing

Since the beginning of the Big Blue Bin program, the amount of recyclable material collected in Cambria County has been on a steady rise. With a total of only 6 bin sites in Cambria County in 1998, the number has risen to 17 locations throughout Cambria, and 3 locations in Somerset County. But increased sites are only part of the reason for the increase in recyclables collected. As markets call for higher yields of quality materials, it is the people of Cambria and Somerset Counties that have come out to recycle at locations near to them. It is this increase in participants that we owe much of the credit for the rise in collections.

The figures below report the amount of materials collected from 1998 to 2004.
